Re: Ford six. Very cool!

I saw that altered making shake down passes at union hill 1/8 mile track in goodlettsville TN in the mid 80s. Got an up close look at it in the pits. It had a 6-into-1 collector & had a other-worldy sound. If im not mistaken i believe he went on to set national records in class racing.

Would of course require a reverse rotation cam.

Re: Darin Morgan Pro-Stock Ford Head......

I was told by more than one person very close to the program that the wedge heads turned out to be complete turds and were basically unusable for P/S. I find that a bit hard to believe for someone that has developed plenty of cutting edge heads. Unless of course they were shackled by some requireme...

Re: LGM shaft rockers

Only thing I don't like so far, is hard to get a hold of. I like talking to a person. Not email Once you do get a hold of him be prepared for a long conversation. He is very thorough. I haven't talked to him in years but I know he had some family health issues he was dealing with at that time, I ho...

Re: LGM shaft rockers

Fantastic product. The quality of the product is only exceeded by the quality of the customer service. Unlike the Sportsman series Jesels, Shelton's rockers have an orifice that sprays the roller tip & they include all ARP hardware. I put a set in a SBC 406 I did for a rock crawler buggy 3 or 4 ...

Re: Running Rhoads lifters on a mild solid cam

Jack, crane made lifters that were a little more moderate bleed down rate that seem to work just fine (“High Intensity”). I have used them in some vacuum rule stock cars and a friends 289 ford engine and all worked just fine and as advertised. Last I mentioned them a few years ago Chase chimed in t...

Re: intake ducting question

With regards to the filters I can add this : I checked while driving without the filters. I didn't give any difference in VE with regards to the fueling my ecu had to use, so my guess is that the filter(s) are not a restriction. Since they are behind the spoiler, there could be an effect of low pre...

Re: Comp ZS II Lobes.

Watch those 1243's - they tend to loose a bit of pressure pretty quick, give em an extra 10 on the seat or watch em & shim when they sag. Not great springs, but the installed height, pressure & rate is great in a stock valve length holden. Spot on Tony. PSI have a new spring similar to the ...

Re: Rocker ratio and cam advance questions

https://www.cnc-motorsports.com/keith-black-kb124-std-hypereutectic-flat-top-pistons-4000-bore.html ^^These pistons & standard Fel-Pro 10111/10112 head gaskets would put him around 9.8:1 CR if his block is still 9.503" & you don't want to deck it or the heads. Piston would be about .023...

Re: Rocker ratio and cam advance questions

Holy hell .045" down! He must have pistons with compression height for the older 9.480" deck height block instead of the later 9.503". I don't know how thin a gasket you can get, but calculations using the promax 175 60cc chambers & 4.060" bore .025" compressed head gask...

Re: afr 195 or 210 ?

I think you will be happy with the 210. I did a pump gas 406 for a rock crawler buggy, 11.2:1, strip dominator, efi, moderate solid roller & 220 heads. Was told it would have a 4500 converter, but the guy ended up going with a 10" 3500 converter, so I was worried about the torque. I shouldn...

Dont know about for street use, but I put a composite in a SBC rock crawler engine 3 or 4 years ago & it is still going. Standard volume oil pump.
