Roll Center - Pavement Late Model
Hello everyone: I am hoping there are a few circle track racers here that can assist me with re adjusting the front roll center of my car. It is an older offset chassis with a Howe fab (LLM) big spring front clip. I have just started to learn about all the suspension settings and I have been told th...

Pavement Late Model Caster Recomendation
Good morning, everyone; I just added power steering to my pavement late model and I am looking for suggestions for a good starting point for caster. It was set at 1 positive on the LF, and 2 degrees positive on the RF. Am I correct in thinking if I increase the caster some it will provide better fee...

Lift Rule Cam Choices
Hello everyone: Our track has opened up the cam rules for 2008 and I would like some of your valuable input on my choices. Here is some background. 350cid, 882 heads, flat tops, all stock, Q jet carb, iron intake and exhaust, 1.5 rockers, automatic trans(TH350) turning 6000 RPM in a Monte Carlo on a...

We had good luck with the Mr. Gasket tester at our oval track. It proved to be within a few percent every time it was used. It is very simple to use, you just remove the rockers for the cylinder you are testing, attach the tool to the spark plug hole, set the piston in the tool down, and crank the e...

You'd probably have alot of fun though That is really the whole intention. I know that I would not be competitive, but I sure would have a grandstand full of happy sponsors. By the way, the crate we use is the 604 not the 602. They have been the track champs here for two seasons against some stout ...

To clarify what got a few of us talking about this... There are a few high profile road races in our area that would be excellent exposure for our sponsors. (TV coverage) Our late models would be legal in the GT-1 class. They may not be ultra competitive, but the exposure far out weighs where we may...

Road Racing a Crate Engine
Hey everyone: As the topic suggests, I am interested in opinions about road racing the crate engines like the GM 604. Is anyone doing this anywhere? Is the oil pan considered an oval track only design, or could it work turning right as well? Aside from adding a good road race pan, does anyone forese...

I would increase the LR to 200 to help the loose off. Check the pinion angle, if the top arms are stock, it will be way off. We shortened the upper arms about one inch and re drilled the holes, then trimmed the ends to make them look untouched. 8) About 2-3 degrees down worked well on our car. Remov...
