Re: Oil pressure drops at hi RPM.....Stumped
got a restrictive filter element between the pump and engine? or between the feed and pump? Sounds like restriction or cavitation somewhere.

Would it be for protection against bore lip damage from detonation?

If the guides were steel or aluminium, it would be a problem. But being brass AND lubricated, i don't think coating is really necessitated

Re: A different type of solid roller lifter.
The only possibility for this design should be that it NEVER returns from the trash ever again. And just where have you seen this type design to make a statement like that? Who made them? And so on and so forth..... pdq67 Cmon, lets be practical here. Take a look at it - a non-captive floating elem...

So just get an aluminium block if you want to make that level of power and lose weight?
66kg would NOT come out of an RB26 block. That's 2KG shy of the entire block weight...

Re: Mercedes F1
The oil/fuel mix injector is an interesting and relatively exotic piece as opposed to a pump fed set of oil squirters. Im interested as to where the mixture takes place.

Re: Mercedes F1
There seems to be some controversy in F1 that some manufacturers are "leaking" oil into the combustion chamber to increase power. Not sure how that works. Seems counterintuitive. Basically due to very high rpm a lower fuel octane to speed the burn is helpfull, this is why F1 have a 'minim...

340 is more than enough.
Hopefully no cavitation occurs.

Re: EFI pump regulated to carb?
Why do you need an electric pump? A really good mechanical pump should work well up to 750 HP...such as in a Nascar type mechanical pump. Electric pump is reliable, neat and easily replaced. Cable driven pumps as reliable as they are, are tricky to plumb and complex to run the cable etc. (for a wat...

Loads of people have done it, but it doesn't make it right. Stock block I'd stick to 4.0" as someone else mentioned.
With a piston so small you'd ideally want piston squirters as well. can't have deep skirts on the pistons there.

^I've seen a few instances where a tuner has insisted on knock sensors, only to be unable to hear knock correctly when the engine is running also. or they've taken so long to identify the particular sound of pre-ignition that the length tune has blown out to weeks worth of labour. And EGT's would be...

Another owner in denial? It happens all the time with japper turbo engines. Tuned wrong. This. Every jap engine tuner is the best - just ask them! Ask them to touch a V8 or carbureted motor "noooo, dont have time for that" LOL There is no damage to other parts, like rod mains? When i've s...
