Re: alignment question
>>Mr. 1979, you have checked and negated bump steer, throughout suspension travel range ? Scrub radius is acceptable ? Eccessive Ackerman can act "darty". Good Luck, flyingwedge. :) concerning bump steer, it still is stock and on a 1979 corvette there is actually some bump steer. To get t...

Re: bump steer kit
Guessing wont work. Which is what happens when you duplicate somebody elses changes.
There is really no substitute for actually measuring one front wheel, and adjusting as necessary. (Both should be identical)
It is not tough, but takes a little understanding as to how its done.

Re: I would like to ask a unibody engineer some questions
Remember, most of the design "quirks" are required by the bean counters controling the production.
Cars are designed for a limited lifespan, then recycling.
That is why WE add chassis upgrades.

Re: Designing a Rear Leaf Spring Suspension to hook & not squat
Pulling a sled, the hitch height vs pull angle is the most important.
If the sled pulls down you are planting the tires lifting the fronts,,, stiffer springs are the thing.
If the sled tongue is neutral or lifting your hitch line.... oh oh.
True sled pullers are the guys you need to befriend.

Re: power difference between different brand cams
Ive often wondered why "cam twist" never enters unto these conversations.
Theres lots involved in twist.
Now theyre even grinding "4 corner" cams for fuel distribution. Decades ago we had different cylinders ground to different lobes. It worked.

Re: Self aligning rockers and adjustable guide plates?
Worth noting is that rail rockers require longer valve tips above the keepers. Rail rockers have been rumored to unlatch keepers on the short tips.
Ford went to rail rockers because it was cheaper $ than machining the guide holes in the head... seems Chevy did the same thing.

Mine worked better when we used a platinum wound tertiary zirconium fetzer module.

Re: Glass Packs as Resonators
NEW or very long glasspacks sound ok, regardless of design. BUT, BUT, they always get louder, quickly. Often the drone changes. This year we have a pile of Flowmasters and burned glasspacks removed because the owners hated them. Stories of Dynamax Super Turbo and Magnaflow with glass indicate they d...

Re: 351 windsor
The 95 351W is the only year of factory roller cams. For heads I suggest hooking up with some Fox Mustang/ racers' boards, and pick up some good used aftermarket heads. Putting a few rejuvination bucks in those beats wasting time on factory iron. Remember... the Fox racing crowd has gone to LS engin...

Re: Small block shorty plugs
You know, I always ASSumed that shorty plugs had shorter insulators, leading (all else equal) to increased chance of spark tracking, but for this pair, the shorty has a slightly longer insulator! Why can't all common plugs be similarly shrunk? (I bet F1 plugs look like model aircraft glow plugs) Di...

Re: Chamber Grooves - what do you guys think?
[quote="forcefed86"]5 year bump... Any new accomplishments? Probably. Those who have significant positive results have been beat up by the trolls and naysayers so that few people will share the progress. I suspect the newest chamber tech and direct injection are making grooves minimal valu...
