Re:
I can't even tell you how many sets of these springs I have used... probably 50 or more... Bret Thanks for the suggestion on these over the years, Ive used the 26918's based on your recommendation a while back. What do you think of the conical compared to the beehive? About what RPM limit for 26918...

Re: Bobweight on Scat crank
Any approx bobweight for the Scat 4-350-3750-6000-21LW ? F43 SBC 350 Stroker crank, lightweight. Also alt PN 435062LW. Thought it would be polite if I'd follow up with the results. Actual Bobweight 1786 grams Front CW needed a reduction by ~60g at the trailing end of the CW Rear CW needed ~80 g inc...

Re: '96 LT1 stock flywheel imbalance weight???
Thanks Dave, Bill... working on it, don't have possession of the flywheel, and the shop that rebuilds ZF S6-40 transmissions hasn't given me the measurement just yet. But if it's as simple as 23.4/R" than I can figure that out. I thought it was more involved for some weird reason. I can order a...

Re: '96 LT1 stock flywheel imbalance weight???
Dave, how do we determine how many grams of weight needed at a given radius to achieve 23.4 in/oz?

Re: Valve Springs - Edelbrock Performer SBC Heads - Roller Cam
OK gotcha... So I would fit: 26918 Beehive Spring Top 1.075" OD .650" ID Bottom 1.310" OD .885" ID CC Valve Spring Cups #4705 (1.3" OD 0.57" ID) onto the heads into the 1.5" pockets and 0.545" OD guides? 1.48" OD spring shims preferred over the smaller on...

Re: Valve Springs - Edelbrock Performer SBC Heads - Roller Cam
Thanks... I know this is pretty mild stuff, and I don't mind spending money if I can lighten things up and really minimize the chance of valves bouncing. The current valve springs are specifically not for roller lifters per the manufacturer, although the specs are very similar to setups which are ma...

Valve Springs - Edelbrock Performer SBC Heads - Roller Cam
Looking for a better set of springs as the heads come with flat tappet only springs... there's an option for roller springs (Edelbrock #5845 Replacement Hydraulic Roller) but I'd like manage the risk of any valve train instability and have more than 120#. Here's what's currently installed: Edelbroc...

Re: Chinese cam cores?
Which cams specifically have questionable cores, and which cams have better cores? Which cams have the best manufacturing processes and quality control? I honestly don't know looking in a Summit catalog for example... or any websites. Looking at pictures and being here for a while, I'm aware of some...

Re: Road Race Track/AutoCross 351w
I've been autocrossing for close to 20 years but I'm not an expert or National caliber guy, but a little bit if experience. I think having difficult to manage engine performance really hurts in autocross and it's tough to refine the driving technique if you're having to compensate for drivability......

Re: Cams effect on idle quality, vacuum, and off idle response
What do you guys think about the LSA aspect of a mild lift cam and the magazine article... seems like smooth idle can be had with wider 112-114 LSA on a mild cam but it does hurt bottom end power according to this one particular experiment: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/camshaft-shootout-lobe-sepa...

Vizard: Chevy Small-Block V-8 Pistons, Rods & Crankshafts
So why is this book so sought after? Lists for $200+ on eBay... has been very expensive for years. It's out of print, so I understand the supply/demand thing, but what's so special about it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Build-and-Modify-Chevrolet-Small-Block-V-8-Pistons-Rods-and-Crankshafts-David-Vizard-...
