Re: Comp Cams DLC Hydraulic Flat Tappet Lifters
Consider this.. If the rocker arm and pushrod tip contact interface is not nice and slippery smooth this will inhibit proper lifter rotation. The moly slip helps at all metal to metal contact points including the rocker pushrod tip , the lifter ,/ Lifter bore wall interface. Piston pin, piston ring...

Re: Has Anybody Successfully Ran a Dyno In A Residential Neiborhood
An easy way to retain insulation and not add a reflective surface is to use Chicken wire fencing, just not in an overhead application - obviously, unless raining glass particles isn't an issue.

Re: Has Anybody Successfully Ran a Dyno In A Residential Neiborhood
Rock wool insulation works very well in sound attenuation and does not burn. Think of how well a muffled engine inside an insulated shop holds down decibels vs. venting the mufflers straight outdoors. Perhaps you can build an insulated/vented chase to exhaust into (unfaced batting only), in this use...

Re: Is E85 being Phazed out in your area?
I hope not , but I'll check at one of the very few stations here that have blender pumps and the ones that additionally carry just E85 also. E30 is likely our best new premium high octane fuel. If I were racing then it would probably be with E85 vs. racing fuel.

[quote=RobZ28 post_id=848582 time=1581522486 user_id=11743 Where are the affordable blocks at again? [/quote] In the rust belt normally. In states where cars actually last the engines are either more worn by a lot or still in a driving car. I'd sonic check the block and leave just enough for +.020 a...

Re: Pontiac 350 build questions
Please think big block Olds here due to the smaller bores and longer strokes. And if not mistaken, don't use the Pontiac rods. pdq67 His stroker is exactly like a '68 - '69 400 Olds if he uses a 4.250" crank, and I've always thought they would be best used with an OE 2.0" valve vs any lar...

Re: Sbc G1 and G2 trick flow heads
I would believe these could have an advantage with a small bore ! ? The info from those that have ported them seems to point to high flow from slightly smaller ports than the norm IMHO. Maybe I should install my set of these G1's on my proposed ; light duty/mileage master/torquey 307 ? But the adv 6...

Re: Nascar 550 hp limit ??
I believe they'd have to start a Nostalgia Series to get some of us interested again, but that's not likely. As far as local small tracks, I can hear the one we used to race at - it's that close, 1/5th mi oval and figure 8, nearly flat/very slight bank asphalt (Indianapolis Speedrome, and inside cit...

^^ You nailed it !!
All the Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers would look better as TransAm cars on road courses, with a few ovals. IMHO

Re: Let's discuss GM's new RUMORED Big Block reintroduction!
Bigger bore = dirtier emissions, I'm pretty sure they won't go there. How much would bore have to do with it if it's squished into a decent chamber like an LS 3/7 or LT DI head? Just asking since they are kind of going there anyway simply by going so big if rumors are true. Tall deck Ls with a 4.18...

The below is a response cut from the "GM Authority" website. You can tell from the last sentence that this gentleman is not a racer ! Quote: A new comment has been posted on GM Planning New Engine Larger Than New 6.6L V8 L8T by MARK SMYTH member of the SAE since 1988: Dennis, you forget th...
