It depends on the car and how its set up too. A newer Mustang, no way, way too light in back. Guess you can add weight in back and try to remove weight in front. Battery in the trunk is a start. Narrow rear ends and wider tires can help-until they are wet. Now if there was someway of putting tracti...

Yeah, i'm wrong. You can hook 1000rwhp on the street just fine no problems every time. If you drive with a bit of common sense and realize the throttle isn't an on/off switch, and the car is setup properly you damn well can easily drive 1k hp on the street and use every bit of it. Obviously it's no...

Even 450rwhp is enough to get goofy trying to pass somebody. What happens when you nail a 1000+hp car on the street at 60mph is something nobody is equipped to deal with. You can cruise a car like that with not alot of effort if its done properly no arguement there, no way can you use it all while ...

It depends on the car and the setup. 800hp to the wheels is very easy to drive and control with a well tuned turbo car. The key is doing it with a big motor that makes enough torque N/A you don't need to scream it. Vipers are marvelous at this. Size the turbos so they don't really come on till ~3k r...

Nobody uses a single 76 on a 400ci engine. Viper stuff we use a pair of the biggest a/r (.96) T04 76GTS turbos and thats a 488-510ci motor that rarely turn much over 6200rpm. Those turbos on that V8, if it's turning any kind of rpm, will choke it off severely on the top end. Aka the torque will fall...

76mm Garrets huh. Which ones? 42-76, 45-76? 1200rw on 14psi tells me a couple things. Either the tune is HORRIBLE, or the cam/heads/turbo setup just doesn't match well. My gut feeling is the turbos are too small. If it's a reasonably high rpm (over 7k) and in the 550ci range, I would want something...

Job Spetter of Turbo People is very good, and you really can't go wrong with W2W. Maybe try John Meany, though he pretty much works exclusively with Rad Rides and on his own BS3 system. What CI? (bore/stroke)? Is it a TEC3 efi system? Crank trigger I hope, with a coil on plug spec? 76mm Garrets huh....

A hydraulic roller, modified to provide ultra-fast leakdown and limited travel might do the trick! :-k very very limited, and ultra tight lash. 8) I've seen them live for thousands of miles and hundreds of passes, as long as you don't set the lash too loose they will be just fine. It usually gives ...

Done it on vehicles where solid lifters weren't readily available.. I machine a spacer that leaves a few (5 thousandths or so) play to take up a slight bit of lash as a lash ramp. Lash the rockers very tight, .012 warm to start on an iron block. If you drill the spacer for oil feed it will work just...

I see serious issues here from MANY points of view. First off, you would have near instant spooling in a true on off fashion. Ever seen how much jet like pressure comes from a Nitro car header? Lose one cylinder and it pushes the car around the lane. The zoomies make a couple THOUSAND pounds of down...

IMO it would be wise to ditch those 160's for some 215's... that or figure out how to stuff a 3rd 160 in it. Also how powerful is the FAST injector driver box? I used the previous setup and wasn't overly impressed with it what so ever. With something this wild it would behoove you to research a Mote...

You did not mention if it is a sleeve bearing or a ball bearing turbo. The damage could be anything from zero to catastrophic. Only real way to tell is to strip it completely, clean the parts and look for obvious signs of overheating or distress. Honestly, it doesn't matter. If it lost oil pressure...

If it lost oil pressure the turbo bearings are toast. Those things don't have much oil flow at all and no bath, so when it loses pressure the situation gets ugly real quick. If you can't spin it by hand, it needs a rebuild. Shaft play and seals are pretty much all there is to test. But that has noth...

Curl'd.... research the 2JZGTE a bit before making assumptions. The 3.4L guys turn over 9k on a regular basis while pushing T6 flange 91+ mm turbos in the 40 to sometimes 60psi range. These little 6 bangers are no joke. I was going to link to a thread on SF but realized the guy who started this one ...
