Re: Radius contact valve seats
I believe you are talking about where the valve actually contacts the seat. Would that not wear into the valve or flatten out the seat pretty quick?

Re: direct injection gas engine intake port deposit build up
The wife has a 2012 Mazda 3 with the direct injection. Bought it new. Has 171,000 miles on it. Have used Amsoil 0W20 signature series since new. Oil changes at around 15,000 miles. You can look in the oil fill and the head and cams look brand new, spotless. No problems yet. I do want to pull the int...

I install a lot of liners. Prefer the rapid liners. One pass with a broach that is a little undersize and ream with a good carbide reamer. Most of my reamers have come from Dakota Parts Warehouse.

MITYVAC MV5532 I have 2 of them and they work great. Will save up to 12 cylinders so you can look back and compare.

Looks nice. Have you run it yet? Looks like a Holley distributor. We have had nothing but trouble with the Holley distributors.

Re: profiler tunnel ram
I ran one of the profilers on a small cube big block with the 12 degree heads that worked really well. I did end up building a billet runner sheet metal top intake that worked a little better. All this was with 2 Dominators.

Re: Whatever happened to tall-deck 427" BBCs?
For me, the way I see it, there is no real advantage to the tall deck. You can get pretty much the same stroke in a short deck. Now if you could get a bigger bore in it that would make it worth while. I wonder why GM went to a tall deck with them.

Re: Stellar AFR valve job
I have had 2 sets of new MBE heads come through my shop in that last couple years. Valve jobs were perfect. The worst valve jobs I have seen were from Indy Cylinder Heads. Way off.

So Napa filters were made by Wix. I guess they still are. I guess they are no good also. Napa filters is what I normally use for break in. Maybe I need to rethink that.

Re: Camshaft Experts please help
My guess is just a bad lobe. Heat treat or material issues. We do a lot of 600cc builds. Kawi, Yamaha and Suzuki. Rarely see something like this. Using stock and aftermarket cams.
