Re: Oil Leak ?
Make sure the gaskets go all the way up to the china walls. If they don't, when you slap the heads on, there's a nice little crevice that is not sealed. Felpro MLS gaskets are horrible for this, but the Cometics seem to go all the way up. I made sure of that....I used black high temp under the head...

Re: Oil Leak ?

Or a little spec of anything under or inbetween the layers of the gasket. Another thin...

Re: Vavoline 20/50 Turning Dark after 4 passes ?
I use this oil often and it's very tough to make a determination when there is a picture of the oil sitting in a black catch pan. I would be interested in seeing a picture or even a video of you letting the used oil run over your finger. Some of these oils get dark after run time. If your still sea...

Re: Vavoline 20/50 Turning Dark after 4 passes ?
What exact oil did you use previously? Was it a non- or low-detergent racing oil? What exact Valvoline 20w50 did you use this time? There are many variations of 20w50 made by Valvoline. Vavoline VR1 20/50 was in it a few weeks back...I drained it and put kendell racing oil in and only did a few 60f...

Nothing at all coming from the breather....No smell of gas....JoePorting wrote:Looks like the combustion gases are getting to the oil somewhere. Is there any smoke in the motor? When you pull the breather off, does smoke come out? Maybe the valve guides are worn? What does the oil smell like?
