Re: Need some ideas on what happened
Ok so now I am looking at the valve springs. They are a pac 1243 240 closed and 560 over the nose. The spring itself is 140 grams with steel retainer and stainless valve. I am not really a fan of the springs and I really cannot tell you why. I like either the comp cams dual conical or the psi 1575 ...

Re: Fuel 101: Octane, SG, VP, Major Components, etc..
1. I don't understand how TEL works to increase octane? At the temperatures found in internal combustion engines, (CH3CH2)4Pb decomposes completely into lead and lead oxides as well as combustible, short-lived ethyl radicals. Lead and lead oxide scavenge radical intermediates in combustion reaction...

Re: Nebulous Theorem 3, Land Speed Racing! WJ, RY, GH
Hey I just saw this, yeah we did pretty good at speed week this year. Just a couple miles short of our goal but it’s OK the car shows great stability and efficiency. The record was 334 miles an hour and we pushed it up to 384 miles an hour with an exit speed of 398 miles an hour. The engine was a de...

Re: How much power can I make from 260 CI
A well balanced and very short stroke sbc dont split at 1000hp. I'd be more worried about cap walk. So fare no cap walk at 9500 2.5" stroke and properly balanced can take alot of rpm. Sounds like a sweet running engine. this is what is sounds like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJCvhoXcPDo

Re: How much power can I make from 260 CI
We are making 1000hp with a 4.0 x 2.5 SBC with a single turbo @ about 20psi. hope to end up making 1500hp with 30+ psi What SBC block are you using? I think that I have read where stock SBC blocks tend to split the, "V", at 700 to 750 hp. SBF's about the same? But I don't know at what cub...

Re: Oil pressure drops at hi RPM.....Stumped
..On another note, if you are flowing 14gpm through that thing, that 4 stage pump isn't helping, especially in the aeriation dept. 6 stage, with 4 in the pan will be waaaaay better if real estate is available, for both performance and longevity! Especially if you're running pan vacuum and presently...

Re: Oil pressure drops at hi RPM.....Stumped
If you are indeed flowing 14gpm (with what I know about your combo it wouldn't surprise me, especially at 100psi) the -16 feed line will Definitely help things. As mentioned, you could probably lower the op to 70-80, but with the extended duty cycle and your power levels, risk vs reward isn't there...
