I'm sure someone in here has used the necked down head studs on a SBC between the intake ports.... I might be struggling to obtain the clamp load I need with these little suckers. I had all the cylinders communicating in these spots.... like 1-3, 5-7, 2-4, 6-8.... all communicating upon a leak down... ripped it apart and didn't find any damage(cometic gasket)... originally torqued the studs 55 lb/ft.... this time upon re-assembly torqued them 65 but they didn't like it...... I'm told Donovan sells H-11 Tool Steel studs like this and plan to get some.
