mopar 451 Piston question

Post by crazycuda »

Does anyone know when they first did the 400/451 combo what piston did they use. Was it an aftermarket or just a stock piston that was modified to work with the longer stroke. For some reason (maby insanity lol) I am thinking i read an article that said they used a stock forged replacement piston and cut a lot off the top if the piston.
Im just courious
thanks

no way to much work and there to heavy to start with..
you have to clearence for the counter weights also
by the time you spend the time to do this to 8 cyl ..
you could just get a set of kb hypers there pretty cheap and stout..
as long as big gobs of blue gas isnt in the plans.
cheap
