oil analyses?

Post by bc »

We had our oil sent out to be analyzed and just got back our results. The reason we did this was because we were seeing what looks like gold dust in the oil when drained from the engine. I would like some help understanding what the results are. I cant figure who to post it so I will just give a bief summary of it. I was show what the metal is and behind it will be the average amount found in the oil

Alum 10
chromuim 3
iron 26
copper 3
lead 572
tin 4
molybdenum 77
manganese 1
potassium 2
boron 5
silicon 14
sodium 11
calcium 2210
magnesium 9
phosphorus 768
zinc 845

I hope this make sense to someone. Im worried about the bearings. We dont have any metal in the oil that is magnetic that I can find and there are no large pieces of anything or flakes. Just very small gold dust like particles in the oil.

I forgot to add that we run leaded fuel so I think that is why our lead count is so high (I hope that is why anyway). All numbers are part per million. If anyone know how to post a pdf file I could then post the sheet that was emailed to me.
