Pushrod clearance

Post by 70MC »

What would be the minimum clearance the pushrod could have as it passed through the cylinder head near the intake ports. This is a SBC with 23 degree heads, and 3/8 pushrods.

Look at Mantons website his catalog says .010 pushrod to any object port etc. is plunty it acts like a guide he told me. What wall thickness are they, I have had good luck with IRC performance pushrods out of Washington state.

.010 should be plenty, though it sounds close. Even if the pushrod deflected, I don't think it would flex more than .010 in the area which it would rub. Just my opinion.
