those are clearance items on an uncommon rod size.. you are going to end up with a pretty tall height probably for an engine running very high compresion. Like I said I just bought the same rods yesterday.. 5.7". Howards and CP were the same price.

I certainly wouldn't cheap out on rods, but I would be more concerned with RPM than power. The Eagle H beams in that 377 I mentioned are holding up because he in only turning it to 6500 RPM. They would probably take more RPM than that.

Keith craft racing recomended eagle h beam rods to me with bolt up grade for 1000 hp + aplication. I called eagle and talked to them(I know probably not the best resource lol) they said no problem 1400 hp..I was expecting a recomendation for billets when I place the order.

Horsepower isn't the primary consideration for rod selection. RPM and reciprocating weight are the critical factors.

If you opt to purchase a cheaper brand of rod, call them before you buy and ask them how many pounds of force it would take to pull one of their rods apart. They would have an answer if they actually validated their products before they put them out on the market........

I would most likely not zip it past 7500-7700 or so. Right now I'm chipped @ 7700. Solid roller likes to rev...

Dont mean to bring this back from the dead, but rather than ask a new question i'll do it here

Anyone use Callies I beam rods before? I'm looking at a rotating assembly from a guy and it has callies I beam rods in it but i'm thinking they are an older rod as they do not have compstar written on them, just callies. All the callies rods i'm seeing now are compstars?
