Head cooling

Hi guys, I am in the process of building a 406 sbc, using a old set of Brodix -10 heads. These heads have extra cooling ports on the intake side of head 1/4 NPT, aprox. where the exhaust cross over port would of been. I am using a dart intake which i have joined the front and rear water ports for better cooling, has anyone experimented with routing of ports from heads. Would appreciate your opinion.
