Only way to be sure if to run it from a base point like say 6000rpm, then shift at 6400 and so on till the car slows down. Then go back and from there till ya run the best times. Ultimately you need to know the rpm the cam is intended, and what the springs will hold up to. Is it hyd cam or what? Any porting to the heads? We need alot more details...

I was using Pat Musi's dyno back in 2002, with a mild 400 production block steel rods, crank & main caps,871 blower and just made 748 hp. at 6800,then Pat said you better stop or you will pull the block apart...So I went home, soon sold the block to a freind, who went back to the same dyno, increased the boost, made 809 at 7000...Put more then a 100 runs on it, sold it to a freind, who put a 671 & 250 of nitrous....hes gone faster then us with a guess about 950 hp.....None of the owners have gone more then 7300........By the way it's had a sleeve in it all this time...OLDHEAD
