You would be better off with a Victor Jr or RPM Air Gap for your combo.

Look for a good used Victor Jr. Save the extra money for other needs. For what you want it will be plenty responsive, and may give up only a little peak HP if you go past around 6500 RPM.

For your motor size and car weight I would look at getting the RPM Air Gap ported for the most useable power.

was just wondering that myself, been on the phone with a few people, that can do some work on it to pull[make power] to 68-7000, that would be fine, its very important to keep the throttle response really crisp thats` why i didnt want a ton of duration on the cam, trying to have my cake and eat it too!

We have had good results with Motown on 400-434 cu-in. On a street ,low comp 355 in a heavy car a RPM air gap or a small single plane would be a better choice. We have a customer with a 10.0 cr 406 in a 67 chevelle at 3500# it has run 10.77 with 93 octane and the motown manifold.Bill C.

that particular 355 was 6 inch rod je forged pistons about 11.5 to 1 comp afr 195 heads from 1998 vintage, baby solid roller 236 at 50 640 lift with 1.6 roller rockers it was in my 85 vette so it was a fuel injected by way of a converted sigle plane intake thst was a brodix hv1001 with a 1300 cfm mono blade throtle body 24 lb injectors i shifted at 7200 rpm the car weghed with me in ti 3350 lbit had a 700 r4 trans and a 10 inch converter with only 3.54 gears its best was a 10.79 but let me say this on a fuel injection car you can not over manifold or throtle body it is because the injectors are shooting fuel directly at the valves
