Gun Drilled Mains?

Post by la360 »

I was looking through a Chrysler book on building 410 WOO engines, What is usually used to plug each end of the crank when they are gun drilled through the mains????
Thanks

The gundrilled cranks that I have worked with are set up to except your basic freeze plug in rear of crank. Usually requires special roller pilot bearing that sets in front the freeze plug. I never saw a crank gundrilled through the snout.

Thanks Ace, I honestly just assumed they drilled the whole way through. I thought a freeze plug may have been used, just wasn't sure.
Thanks
