I'm working on a 1937 international truck engine model HD213. According to my bearing book the main bores are all .003"-.005" under the low limit. This seemed unusual to me and it makes me wonder if the main spec in the book was a typo.
I'm wondering if anyone here has worked on these before and can confirm the main bore specs for me. I'd hate to bore them bigger just to find out later the spec in the book was wrong.
Thanks in advance!

From AERA:
Main bores: 2.7920-2.7930"

Thanks Tom. Here's the interesting thing now- this block has four mains and they are all a different size. Your spec is close to one of the main bores. Your spec would make me think I don't have an HD213 except it is cast into the side of the block. Hmm, now what?

Didn't willys overland build some of the IH light trucks in the thirties? Is it possible the specs.for it may be Willys.
Re: 1937 International specs
I've come across references to Willys when looking for info. I haven't looked for a Willys HD213. I could try that.

The specs from an old michigan 77 brearing book I have are:
1-2.7815/2.7825
2-2.7915/2.7925
3-2.8015/2.8025
4-2.8115/2.8125
Bore/stroke:
3.313/4.125

Re: 1937 International specs
Seeing the earlier post which gave only the one 2.7920-2.7930" main diameter made me think of what we do with the early '50s Chevy stovebolt sixes with differing size main bearings; the later versions of that engine have all the same diameter mains, so we just line bore the early mains all the same as the later engines and use the later main bearings.
No idea if it's possible with the IH, but anyone know if the later versions have same diameter mains?

Re: 1937 International specs
The problem with that is we already have the bearings...
That would be an easy solution if the later bearings are all the same. The HD214a is from 1950-1955 and may the same diameter on all the mains.
But that won't help me this time. Oh well.

Re: 1937 International specs
If you have the brgs.are there any #s that could be cross referenced? FRom what I can decipher, willys overland did build the truck for IH,1935 was the year they went to 4 mains and inserts. A co, in Pontiac Mich also built the engines. This is turning out to be a tuffy, Id like to know just for kicks.
Re: 1937 International specs
Correcting my earlier mis-statement. What was done was to bore the early stovebolt engines to '55-62 diameters to get rid of the shims. The bores are still four differing diameters.
