Have built several 360 sprint engines using that same combo for class's that use iron heads. Yes the 21deg pistons are more money then the shelf power pak pistons but they do come with a decent .043 ring set.and lateral gas ports.

There is other options for pistons but they may be just the same end cost with the purchase of a good ring package to fit them. Total seal is the only place that sells a ring package that fits the Mahle piston correctly.
I ordered a set today and currently that are about $260 for the conventional ring pack. Add $130 for gapless top.

Have you tried Ross CP or Diamond for pistons. They offer pistons as well but I have no current cost from them other then Mahle

Don't mean to hijack thread, quick question.
What type of V(2.02)/P clearance reduction would result if I run
23* pistons w/typical valve notches would dish help for clearance,
looking at building 383 SBC with same heads (got a pair very cheap),
not looking to run wildly lifted cam maybe .600 max intake, this
would not be a max effort build. There is no car for yet just clearing
off selves of some spare parts.

Thanks in advance.

I have checked this several time with no luck but if you have pistons now the only thing you can do is check PTV clearance to confirm but theres a 99.9% chance there is not going to be any room for it.
A 21deg piston's VR is a long way off from a 23 deg piston [-X

Thank you from your previous post I thought you may have tried something
like that and or checked at least. That'll help :(

Made made special pistons for the Dart 49cc head as well.
They are a 21deg head as I am sure you already know :D
