If you mean Pontiac big block Chevy heads from a long ago era in Pro Stock, try Adger Smith. He is a member here.

I've go one set of the 875's left. That is the head just like the 427 except the intake port is a little smaller.
It leaves more room to change the port via CNC or hand.
10049875 10049875 376/R 83 (o) 2.28/1.88 Pontiac small port head
10045427 10045427 460/R 91 (o) 2.40/1.90 Pontiac large port head
These have been run in a blower application, no epoxy.
They need to be freshened and if run NA the intake port made larger w/larger valve.
They have a great NOS or blower chamber.
They have never been "all blowed up" :~)
I'll take $1800 for them and I will pay the ride
BTW I also know who has "The CNC Program" to make these intake ports better than the 427's
That information goes with the heads.

Re: Anyone here have experience with GM pontiac 427 heads
I already have two sets. just looking for info about them. I need to buy pushrods, and head gaskets and a carb and it should be running . But i am waiting for my bottom end to come back from balancing . then I can start assembling . I am looking for any info for setting up the rocker stand hights and a head gasket part number for 4.600 bore .040 thick.

Everyone I talk to that has had these head loved them . They day the head makes good power . But the guys that ran them are far and few . All the info is top secret or it was at the time . Now the guys that have them have to figure it out on there own. I am stuck with these heads and I will make them run. Any idea where to start the timing at. Someone said they don't like over 25 deg max of timing .

I have a set of raw heads if someone is interested.
No machining whatsoever done on them.

I ran many sets with alcohol injection. They always loved right around 31-32 degrees with my set-ups.
Great heads. Strong, durable, fairly wide tuning window, decent valvetrain stability. For the price that some of these are running these days, you have lots of opportunities. The thing about them is everyone finished them a bit different. I had sets from EPD, Schmidt, and Fulton. Valves moved all over the place, different angles, rolled over, etc. Makes it hard to say there is one answer when there were so many variables.
