Retired recently after spending the best part of three decades in various engineering and sales positions at a major manufacturer of internal engine parts. Supply bearings, rings, gaskets, pistons, cylinder sleeves, etc., to all forms of motorsports including NHRA professional classes, NASCAR, Motorola/Rolex Road Racing, Indy Car, tractor pulling, motorcycle racing, snowmobile/jet ski racing, go karts, etc., etc. Even had an inquiry once from a guy who is a competitive barstool racer . . . . . . .
I became directly involved in the high performance industry in July 1966 - yes, that will be fifty years next year.[/quote]

Well done, enjoy your retirement.

Re: brazed block&machining pro+stock+Australia

Hi, Ford 351 Cleveland block furnace brazed block & machining - hasn't technology has come a long since cnc machinery come on the market just press a button.

The furnace brazed process would be nice to restore some of the old Ford 351 Cleveland blocks that are floating around, I know work involved out weighs the cost of a new block that are available today.

Always admired what the ProStock guys did back in that era , as a young child watching the races at Heathcote and Calder race way in Melbourne Australia Hans Van Dike HZ GTS (Chevy power plant ) pro stock Australia and Greg Flaherty Shotgun falcon (Ford power plant ) pro stock Australia amongst the many other old timers.

Greg Flaherty Shotgun - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhL2j1UsPEQ

Hans Van Dike SBC - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu6yHlWv5Ug

Ray Ward SBF - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKiwmnR7mXw

Could watch this stuff all day long.

Love all the Old American Pro Stock stuff also.

As far as Ford 351 Cleveland block furnace brazed block & machining i will be giving it a attempt on some of my old blocks I have at work once i finish setup the big mill.

Always intrigued by the by the Darton sleeving process of the Ford 5.4 Modular V8 and the Honda I4 B18 blocks people are doing. The amount of metal cutting involved woooooooooooo .

Cheers

It's always neat to talk to some of the early pioneers of Pro Stock, back when you had to innovate on your own rather than write a check for a better part/package.
