Slightly concave lifters. If these have 220,000 miles on them I am impressed.

I am interested in opinions of flat tappet vs. Roller in a low duration application like this. 210 degrees @ .050 on the intake. I believe flat tappets have more lifter intensity than the roller when they are this small. Thanks.

lots of variables carnut
just a quick peak shows you might be correct for small diameter tappets
on the ft lifter diameter and base circle
on the roller- roller diameter, base circle, inverse flank profile
on a mopar size lifter ft and roller is a push in a MOPAR except Jones inverse radius profiles are better
IDK about Chevy size especially if you have to go to a small base circle
hard to tell from a catalog except for HR and Hyd FT as tough to adjust for valve lash on the solids
just shooting from the hip here
If you are just commenting about FORD you have a reasonable base circle to work with but it's amazing how many shoot themselves in the foot using a master designed for a

SBC examples from Jones Hyd rollers are inverse radius profiles
.006 .050 Lobe
260 .204 .295 Hyd FT
268 .210 .300 Hyd FT
260 .210 .313 Hyd Roller
268 .210 .312 Hyd Roller
268 .218 .325 Hyd Roller
264 .218 .340 Hyd roller Race series

you might want to do the same from the Ultradine or other list
never just choose from a list as valve train weight, revability, spring requirements are critical

Few scratches but not too bad. Rear main seal did dig in to the surface more than I would have liked.

Block is shot. Did not pass the water test. Had a feeling the core plugs popped out from freezing, cracked at bottom of water jacket. Great fun on a time and budget limited project.
