Re: My next 454 build
I haven't read this WHOLE thread, but VortecPro, I would like to offer my comments..
Pretty-much a stock build, BUT....
About a 9.5 to 1 CR, -206 way early large oval real, "closed", chambered stock cast-iron heads plunge cut for bigger valves and of course bowl-blended along with a, "dingle berry", port clean up and a Holley Strip Dom. oval port intake with an 850 on it and 4-tube, small tube, headers
My UDHarold custom solid flat tappet lifter cam spec'd at 278/249/161, 110/106, .618" lift and needs .018" hot lash.
Sucker should cook!
As always, just trying to help and hope this will be taken under consideration.

Re: My next 454 build
Just a great sounding responsive engine! I expect more from the larger ports. Thanks, Charlievortecpro wrote:Heres a video from todays dyno test.

Great running engine! What was the dyno correction factor?

Thanks, STP 1.275 correction factor. Baro was 24.00.MadBill wrote:Great running engine! What was the dyno correction factor?

Re: My next 454 build
We near-sea level dwellers (640' for me) don't appreciate how good we have it. As I type, my Casio 'Triple Sensor' watch is showing 29.40" uncorrected...

Re: My next 454 build
I am sure by now this engine is finished. How much power and torque did it make?
Re: My next 454 build
After reconsidering the stupidity of my combination, thanks to all that pointed it out, I went with a different combination. Here's the build for anyone who might be interested. BTW 650 HP street 496 drag test happens this week!
