I do not believe 4032 is a hyper-eutectic alloy. While it is higher silicon than 2618 it is not hyper-eutectic. Its a great material for pistons, and has some upsides vs 2618 mtrl when put to street/high hours use. Its about picking the better alloy for the application, when both are available.

You are correct I misspoke thinking about cast pistons that some are hyper-eutectic, not necessarily so. 4032 allow is higher in silicone than 2618 and as such is harder and more brittle than 2618 but both alloys are used in forged pistons. As for the cast pistons shown on the post, I do not know the aluminum alloy of this brand as I NEVER use cast pistons. I have used quality 4032 forged pistons from several manufacturers in mild NA applications and have had good results over the years . I have also seen 4032 forged pistons used in high rpm, nitrous and boosted applications where the brittle aspect showed its ugly head with piston failure and engine damage. That's why I feel that in nitrous, boosted or big power adder applications 2618 alloy is my piston material choice. JMO

Its coming along, just keep in mind I have many many engine projects going. You can be sure it will get done, my car needs a engine.

Good question. Vortecpro are those studs welded to the top of the stock main cap bolts?

I was able to test the peanut port 467 right out of my car today. My 467 peanut port original dyno test before it went into the car (my peanut port 467)
Picture 3411 is as the engine came out of my car.

Yes
I am not a fastener expert but if these bolts have been brazed or welded on they are not acceptable for any engine. The temper, sheer and yield strength will have been changed with heating and will not stretch and hold at the specified torque setting. Thanks, Charlie
