Even if you just use it for comparison to your next project you have a baseline of port energy vs. Performance. If your next set of heads have more port energy and perform better you know you are on the right track. Just another tool, more info the better. I would be glad to do it for you but you will owe me a beer when you visit. Thanks, Charlie

I've calculated the port energy on several sets of heads I have dyno results on, and don't see a connection to power.
The only trend I see is ported heads are higher port energy than un ported, but within the ported heads the higher ones don't necessarily make more power.

Tommy Boy's heads would be 23ish at peak lift I think.

I have to decide what to spend my limited amount of time on.
I have a thermometer in my test bore to collect temp info during a flow test,
a static pressure port for the spark plug hole to collect static pressure at the top of the bore vs my test pressure,
Velocity probes for the ports,
Velocity probes bent to probe the port while an intake is bolted on,
etc,
It's a lot easier to collect flow bench data than it is to get it all correlated to power.

I could have suggested, The The...but good luck finding any of their music. I think Andrew Brieitbart bought their last and only CD.

Well if the throat isnt blown out and the pinch isnt too small looks like you have good fps for the average csa so at least the heads arent butchered in the normal chase flow only way

In order for the graph to be accurate I will need flow in these increments and sizes of intake opening and exhaust opening as well as throat diameters. Take a look at this sheet for input info. Thanks, Charlie

Got no flowZ below .200"

Very seldom flow anything down there.
