Piston Pin Change
I have a set of tool steel taper wall pins, and I am thinking about using them in a set of pistons I have. My quesion is. . . the pistons are press fit. Both pins measure the same but the lighted pins have no bevel on the ends, will that be a problem. I wonder if it will put pressure on the piston, and cause damage. (cut into it) If so I was thinking about putting a bevel on them. Should I just forget the idea, about using them or go foward. Any thoughts would be great. I am building a "junkyard" motor. (out of junk I have lying around) THANKS!!

Some times when using tool steel pins in a press fit application that when pressing them out they will gaul on most type stock pins they are chrome pins and are made for that and you shouldn't be pressing on the pistons to put them together and heating up the rods to hang them is the way to go and if there is a sharp edge on the pins a slight radius is fine.
