The storing "in the sun" is more of a scare tactic in this discussion, and has as much bearing on the shelf life as not also store oil inside the containment shell of a nuclear reactor.
"Scare Tactic" really, why dont you store your racing gas in a clear container in the sun, after all its further refined crude, ever hear of oxidation, dont think you need to be in a nuclear plant for that.
Dave, if you have stock of old oil then you are the perfect candidate to get it tested, your out $25 but would be able to feel comfortable about dumping old technology in your engine or not
