Post by redliner »

Here is the sbc I have in the making.... I wondered how much steam it should make.... any comments are welcome.... Dart SHP block 4.125 bore, fully studded, .904 lifter bore,Callies Magnum 3.875,Callies Ultra XD 6" rods, Speier V2.50PF 227 cc, 2.53 AVG. CSA, 2.1/1.6, 314 @ .600, 323 @ .700,1.7 T&D rocker shaft, Jones solid roller 1.020" B.C., 110 L/C, I. C. 106, E.C. 114, in op 26,cl 56, x op 68, cl 20. .421in./ .412ex. .699/.680. Super Vic II, 950 Race Demon. These are the basics for the engine for my 42Stude. Behind this motor slated for my 3200lbs. coupe is a Liberty faceplated TKO 600, 57 Olds 4.88s, 29x13 Goodyear slicks. Think it will run low 10s? Best et with worn out 383/ mis-matched combo is 1.46, 10.75@125

If it wouldn't run low 10's you have something seriously wrong or you live in Denver.

I really like the combo, I could not find the mcsa of that intake today. I know it is a pretty big intake and should feed those heads well. I would probably use a bit bigger carb. Where you able to flow the heads, intake, carb and air cleaner together? Thanks, Charlie

I don't think it will make 700, maybe I'm wrong but even if it's just in the 600's it should go sub 10's if you can row gears good enough. My 377 only calculates to the 560/570 hp area but is enough to run 10.20's at 3100lbs.

Yes I have some wheelstand to take out with the 4 link. I think 10.0 is fairly obtainable... now I am concerned with busting my trans.....

Bolting the whole intake system on the bench is a pain but very informative!
