Rember the intake port texture debates?

Re: Rember the intake port texture debates?
I would love to see a back to back dyno test. Depending on the carb or injectors ability to atomize the fuel it might help. I always try to test as much as I can, because theories are great, but proven facts trump theory all day long.
Too bad my current life situation does not allow me the time to test the idea.

You got your picture posting privileges back.....................THANK GOD! LOLCarnut1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2017 6:07 pm 1008171849a_HDR-1_2.jpgForgive me for posting this in more than one thread but I want DV to see this before I send out his next shipment. After seeing cnc work on the back of a valve I wondered what could be done by hand. I grabbed a used up 1.94" Chevy valve and did a bit of burr work on it. Interested in opinions on this. Thanks, Charlie

Just the opposite for me... my tolerance for unnecessary b.s. is far lower these days.Warp Speed wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 7:37 amThey do, unfortunately not fast enough!

Found this from a few years ago. Build a Lightning Bronco? Thread. Using quite a rough texture. Gt40 heads 351w motor. Thanks, Charlie

Re: Rember the intake port texture debates?
Looking with great interest at the info and pics posted here with the almost 'as cast'-finishes and I'm wondering how this all relates to the ripples visible on sea floors or desert sand dunes and such.
Isn't nature already providing a good (the best?) example of how a finish should look like to promote flow?
Thinking a step further, could an exhaust tube/system machined internally with these kind of wave-textures provide any gains?

Re: Rember the intake port texture debates?
Nature has found the best design for many problems. If you think flow look at bird feathers or fish scales. We can learn plenty.
