What would be the advantage of an 8.1 in a 350?

You mean you haven't got used to the agenda yet?

1. Throw out a teaser.
2. Leave for 3-4 weeks so that the post will gain all the momentum/advertising/gains it can.

Unlike most of the posters I do not know everything that can be known in the internal combustion engine. I truly appreciate when pros post and help out. Keep it up and DV will go as so many other pros have. Thanks, Charlie

That was my thought or recessing the chamber. I don't think the rod length would be needed with the exception of extreme side load and I don't think you can fit a crank in a SBC block that would require it.

Yeah it's like Antifa showing up at a Milo Free Speech rally in the name of free speech only to stop him from speaking and then they run and hide...No desire for open conversation only opinion.

Hmm.

Maybe I should start a bunch of threads with a tease and then take a 4 week vacation.

Honestly, if you're present to start the thread, why not finish it instead of offering cliff-hangers? If it's a good enough topic, then the conversation will ensue even after the "climax".

"I built a SUPER DUPER NICE ENGINE, with all kinds of tricks, custom machine work, and stuff you've never seen before!!! Wait for 4 weeks and I'll tell you more about it!"

These threads are done this way in order to get MAX amount of exposure. It's all about advertising.
It seems just fine when someone starts another, "I am building an engine guess how much power it will make" thread.

Most of the guys that start those threads are home-builders and don't put up builds for advertising.

Isn't it just an innocent way of trying to let people think outside of the box a bit?

Piston TDC dwell will take about a week every revolution.
Will this be a tractor engine of some kind?
Stump puller?
Superserious snowplow because maybe someone is expecting a long cold and snowy winter?

Most of them also have no tested data to share with the world either or work one on one with a nobody to put them in front of a somebody to further their engine career but I guess it's not what you do good that anyone points out it's only the thing they dislike that they will point to.
Everyone seems fine with selling themselves to the world on a daily bases but not when someone else does it.
