My 355 I'm about to sell has the tall distributor boss...maybe I should think again about selling it. It has been a very good engine to me.

I unpacked my Howard's new solid Roller for my 393w over at David Vizards tonight. This is my first Howard's roller cam and let me tell you the polishing on this cam is better than most top name brands that I have seen! Stay tuned for more details of this David Vizard spec'ed Windsor build coming up!

Yes, 80' s vintage VW, Audi 8v counterflow head. Why? Why not? Small round ports that flow pretty good stock. Valves are a good size for the bore. I don't have all the specifics nailed down. I did one intake and exhaust to see if they would respond at all and gains can be had at least flow gains. Thanks, Charlie

I'm not trying to discredit you or DV.. but how about you build something. Post your results, then modify it again to show your results. Vs show what a program will do. I have used pipemax to find out an engine wanted different frombwhatbwas suggested . Try things. I don't post much but nit doesn't mean I don't know much.

I can tell you there are simple formulas you can apply based on real world data, if you build and dyno/race stuff. but a dyno mule rarely wins an event. So who cares what that data is. Learn what can be done with a casring. It is what it is. That's why we have aftermarket castings. Because stock can't be modified enough.

MT, stay tuned. In the works, VW Audi counterflow head and possible extension of that project, 427-440 ci Chevelle engine project, 331 chevy street mill with ported vette 128 heads, for a friend build from what I have laying around and finally getting those Dart 200's done and on a motor. Brand new ported gt40p heads that may need to be turned into cash for Christmas. Now I realize that doesn't sound like much to you pros but this is my "Passion" and not my full time gig. Last set of heads have been sent to DV for his final testing and parts selection and dyno comp between 7 sets of sbf heads coming up. Not bad for a side gig, right?
I will be using DV's porting program to help guide port size and port energy with air velocity on the VW head it should be interesting and the reason I post as much as I do I sometimes I get fantastic help from pros. Thanks, Charlie

436 ford(400 base) with chi 4v heads. Old School ur19 and a pair of 6464's. See if that livens it up.

I have just got involved with a build my crew chief buddy Mervyn Bonnett is doing. It is one of those mopre desirable situations which has a reletivly big budget. How about a 470 SBC build intended to run alky and nitrous?

I am currently doing the heads for this build - a set of 18 degree GM castings.

Here is where I have got to so far.

The valve train will have about 0.800 lift max rpm will be about 7500 (needs to be reliable) flow #'s at that lift are 367 intake and 258 ex (no pipe)
