Camshaft Break In

Post by BeenGone »

Hello Guys this is my first post, longtime registered lurker just trying to gain some knowledge. Just had an outer spring tested. Result was 80# @ 1.900 and 165# at 1.350. Camshaft is solid flat tappet with .550 lift and 252 degrees @.050. Is this too light for a normal break in procedure ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jed for responding, this is my first cam install. I was concerned if open pressure was enough to control the valve train since most of what I've read mentions 100-110+ seat and 200-220+ open. Failed to mention this is a sbc 406 with edm lifters. I will give it a try and pay close attn to rpms, don't want lifters bouncing off camshaft. Again Thanks
