We recently needed an extended pilot for a large Volvo diesel head. .437 top for a 8mm guide at least 8 inches long. Looked in old Kwik Way catalog and found what we needed. Called and found out they sold out to Irontite. They sent us to Goodson. Long story short,no one has it and we were told by everyone we called that no one makes extended pilots anymore. We called 4 different companies and were told the same thing. What do you do in a situation like this? Anyone here run into this problem?

If you're truly out of luck, figure up the measurements of what you need and send them to Pacific Tool & Gauge if you don't have a grinder shop in your area.

Make one out of 7/16"drill rod.

What about Ricardo at new3acut. He makes great his pilots maybe he would entertain making one to your specs.

Does anyone know of someone named Fritz in South Dakota that supposedly bought K O Lee's pilot grinding equipment. This information was given to us by Goodson. They gave us his number but we got no answer when we called. And no answering machine to leave a message. Thanks
