I knew that, just don't understand what the big deal is and why he's not a fan.

I belive those holes are for the machine to mount to it.. kinda like some brodix heads 2 small holes in each end

Re: NEW Pro-Filer SBC 23º Manifold
My concern with the holes would be a leak, because there isn't much material between the hole and the plenum, also the same from the hole to the outside. I'm sure if it is two flat surfaces with a gasket everything would be fine. If it bothered me that much I could just fill the holes with Devcon and file them flush...
Re: NEW Pro-Filer SBC 23º Manifold
Bingo! If I got only one scratch on the entire intake it would be right there with my luck. Otherwise I'd prob try to tap n bolt a spacer on with some flush bolts.cgarb wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 4:13 pm My concern with the holes would be a leak, because there isn't much material between the hole and the plenum, also the same from the hole to the outside. Those holes are a NON issue, good god. They are kinda nice actually. You can dowel locate a spacer that you ported to match the plenum, and know it will line up perfect everytime. Its a common thing to do anyhow. I am assuming that's why they are there.

Lots of heads, intake manifolds and other stuff look really nice but, I have witnessed some awful ugly stuff actually make a bunch more power.
I hope this nice looking piece will pass the comparative power tests ...
Although it is all really in the COMBINATION.

Looks like a nice piece. I am pretty sure Wilson and Profiler did some good testing before the manifold was released for sale and use.
I like the fact they also included injector positions and fuel rail mounts for EFI. It's almost less expensive now to set up an efi based system on a manifold like this than it is to buy a really good big carb that's set up and dialed in for a particular application.
As for those holes I agree they can be helpful locating a spacer with some pins or if not needed just plug them with some short flush pins or RTV.
It's important for the enthusiasts and racers that these companies keep developing new and better product. Let's hope they were successful with their efforts!

I have some ported manifolds that have .200-.300 left of carb flange.
Even their Snipers have them.
