Re: How much power can I make from 260 CI
Thats good to know. One bonus in my application is that power below 6000 is not required. The engine will live at 6500-7500 pretty much for the whole race.

I would go with the LSjet1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 11:38 am Interesting as one of my good friends actually has built a sbf based off a 302 in at 260 ci twin turbo for salt flats racing. He is the current world record holder for his class as of last year. He has suggested to me that I should go with the Ford also. The only reason I have been stuck on the LS is that I am very if the project di not work it is very easy for me to drop in a ct525 or LSX 454 and it will still fall right into a class.

That is pretty much where I am at. Just trying to decide on a rod length 6.125 would prob work but am wondering if going 6.2 or 6.250 would put the pin closer to the c of G of the piston and if it really matters that much.CamKing wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 3:30 pmI would go with the LSjet1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 11:38 am Interesting as one of my good friends actually has built a sbf based off a 302 in at 260 ci twin turbo for salt flats racing. It would be nice to have the pin centered, but at the RPM you want to turn, it's not a big deal.jet1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 4:36 pmThat is pretty much where I am at. Re: How much power can I make from 260 CI
Any thoughts on a cam for this unit? I have been around the 255/275 .670/ .695 ish 114 lc. By the way very happy with the cam you got me for my LSX454. It has won to Canadian titles and a world title in my class.CamKing wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 10:44 amIt would be nice to have the pin centered, but at the RPM you want to turn, it's not a big deal.

Stock 5.4 block and heads.........
Apparently it is making 2500hp.......
Scaling down to your 4.26 liter or 260" would be 1972hp.....
That sounds nice...

It wouldn't need anywhere near that much duration. Depending on if you go hydr or mechanical roller, you should be in the high 230's to low 240's @.050"jet1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 3:49 pmAny thoughts on a cam for this unit? I would like to stay with hydraulic roller if I could but it's not a deal breaker. Not sure what I was thinking with that much duration but when I say 7500 usually I am looking for a tq peak close to that.CamKing wrote: ↑Sat Mar 03, 2018 11:07 amIt wouldn't need anywhere near that much duration.
