Cheap burett is not a bargin, as has been expressed in previous posts. I use a good quality, glass burett that I bought from a scientific supply source in the Chicago area. This burett is a 200 ML unit, so that I can cc BBC chambers without refilling the tool. It was very expensive, being a 200 ML unit, but well worth the extra cost in my opinion.

You could use it to calibrate a cheap burette, then pack away the big buck one for big block use only. Fewer lottery tickets for breakage!

Exactly ... I still have and use that cheaper burette of 40 some years of age in times where there is usually rough handling but, now that I know the real calibration, I just multiply the shown amount by .951 and get the right figure.

I use the green rubbing alcohol with wintergreen for fluid.

I too, use windshield washer fluid for cc'ing combustion chambers and ports, etc. Seems to work very well and is cheap.

I bought a replacement plexi glass https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pow- ... /overview/ and used a large 60ml syringe(less than a $1) from a local pharmacy then a smaller 10ml one for a few bucks also from the pharmacy. I read about the washer fluid evaporating so decided to give it a shot and it worked well. Cheap and close enough for my use, measured two heads a 64cc and 72cc and that's exactly what they cced as.
