Has anyone flowed the AFR220 and TFS225HP on the same bench, and can confirm flow numbers? This winter I'm going to change my combo. 427W small bore 4.040 and 4.170 stroke. I have a set of OOTB Vic Jrs on it now. Going to a SR cam also. Are the HPs worth the extra cost of raised headers? Car did ok with the HR cam and Vic jr's. made 457whp.

I have a ported SV on it now. Cam I'm running a HR 242/254 @.050 .598 lift with 1.7RR. This car my go to the track 3-4 times a year has power steering and A/C. I'm all ears on what S/R to run.

You need a lot of lift to take real advantage of either head moreso the TFS.
A lot of street miles with an SR to suit is going to be the picky bit.
Whats the rest of the combo, gears, convertor current stall , etc.
What sort of manners do you want it to have?

3.73 gear and TKO 600. Im leaning for the AFR. I already have 1 3/4 lomg tubes and dont want to iy 1,000.00 set of headers. I converted to carb Holly classic 950. It runs better cooler and has more power than the EEC MPI.

Your SV will be a nice match on the AFR's, header flanges may need a touchup to match the ports.
Assuming you're in USA ?, ask Camking (mike) to spec up a nice street friendly SR lobe for you, depending on fuel and CR , you'll want to be 265+@.050" and at least .670" lift (more would be great but street life will suffer)

Should be close to 11-1 with 58cc chambers. I will be running 93 octane.

If it were me I would probably just send my Vic Jr to TEA for porting. I went through this selling my RHS head(instead of having them ported) for a head with similar valve layout to the hi port, it ended up needing me to completely change the valvetrain to get correct geometry. Granted, now I have really nice valvetrain, but it was a pain in the wallet.

i have thought about getting the jrs ported by TEA. I think its a 1000.00. flow around 320 at 700.

And you will have an additional $1200+ in your pocket that wouldn't be there if you bought the AFRs, even before you include the cost of any other changes you would have to make to convert.
