Exactly. The ford lovers see ford in everything. They see Cleveland heads in the furniture, in the lawn mower and chainsaw.

It's a ford sickness.

Now everybody laugh because that's just funny.

BBC. 1965. 396. Before that there was what was referred to as the mystery engine. That also had canted valves, that was sort of a cross between a 409 head and what we now know as the BBC head. The Cleveland was 1970.

Im primarily a ford person but no i dont see ford in everything. Every make and model has some good points and some bad points.
I like a laugh but realistically as every maker heads toward a great design its enevitable that similarities will be seen.
But hey its always fun to have a little stir up and a laugh at the seemingly sensitive chevvy guys about canted valve stuff .

I really don't give a rats ass which came first, but technically, the Boss 302 was 1969. Still behind the BBC.

Lol years back i threw the Poly heads into the same tyoe of debate and got flamed by the unhumerous chrysler boys as its not really a canted valve head, its just special chrysler voodoo and how dare i compare it to a chev or ford ! Lol

For someone of my generation, arguing what 50 year old head design is the most influential, and playing the marque fanboi card, is right up there about people who talk about their high school football team winning some game 40 years ago. No one cares, move on. As said before, as technology is refined, we hone in on the most efficient package for a given design box.

My two cents. 8)

Chevy got tired of losing to Ford in NASCAR so they copied their heads and the rest is history...except it's modern #-o
That should spur a cpl more pages of argument. :D
