Is there any "Pattern" acailable for adding Trap Doors and Baffles to a square bottomed Oil Pan? What is best used for a Trap Door. Most I have seen look like door hinges.

BMW uses rubber flaps from the factory. They believe they are superior to metal doors. Same style also available in bulk from I think Tomei?

Speedway had a kit to add on to a sbc,it was around $25 .Had a trap door and a kickout.Worked good as long as you had the oil pan bolted to a block when welding.

Stainless piano hinge is what is used in most pans with the pin replaced with a smaller sized wire to allow if to move freely and stop before jamming open.

This is what is in my car right now. I believe it works better with these (sump cover and walls with flaps) than without them. Front sump and pickup.
