Heck, a little Z-28, 302 will hit 8,000 easy until it floats and then bends it's valves!

But the LS engine is making power to 8000. Not losing 300hp to turn the rpm like your suggestion.

My die grinder can hit 15,000.. so whats your point?

Its amazing how years of engineering make something better. And the old timers will still think a 426 hemi this or dz302 that..

But 1000hp na is good out of an ls

Then do it this way!

Buy onna Bill Mitchells custom Gen I blocks that the LS- heads can bolt on and then see just how it turns out comparing the old engine to the new one?

I think that it was pretty-much a wash, but please check me here!

I honestly believe that GM screwed the pooch when they didn't put the LS- heads on the old block, but that's just me!

The crank's too tight!
The oil pump pickup is too long! And I don't like the oil pump!
Not enough head bolts OR why did they come out later with 6 instead of the standard 4?
