Short block is ready to go together. Heads still need more work.
Been workin on a 468 BBC for a different pulling truck. It should be dyno ready by end of Feb.
Tryin to finish up a couple other projects.

Hope to have the engine dynoed and everything ready for a test hook or 2 before the IAMO points starts.

I received some spy photos of the heads for the 468 awhile back. Is that one going to be dynoed as well? Everybody in Troy is looking forward to seeing Tommy Boy's replacement run on the dyno. (I assume the 421 remains unnamed at this point :? )

I didn't see where you posted cam specs, or maybe I missed it......or maybe its proprietary?

I think that consult is a given. Put a supercharger on it mounted to a tunnel ram with 4 quadrajets?

Yes, the 468 will make a trip to the dyno. It should be ready by end of Feb. or first of Mar. Need to order a vacuum pump still, local suplier was out of stock on them. Trial fitting up intake and porting it some today.

421 remains un named so far.
Not sure Joe is lookin forward to me bringing more engines to Troy, he's probably tired of seein me out there. :)

Cam for 421 is 274-288-112 .462" intake lobe lift .442 ex lobe lift.
Comp cams lobes 1840 and 4082

Or was you asking about the 468 cam specs ?

It's for one of my son's truck pulling buddys. Mostly stuff he's picked up used. It's under the same rules as the 421 now cause the local group adopted IAMO pro street rules for this coming year.

It's 468 cube, Scat rods, stock 454 crank, in stock block. Has some dome trw pistons that will make it in the 12.3-1 compression range 1/16-1/16-3/16 rings I lowered the tension on.(maybe too much)LOL
781 casting heads I ported with 2.170 intake 1.850 ex Ferrea valves.
Brodix single plane intake with some porting and matched up to the heads good.
Comp cams 268*-280*-112* with .750 net intake lift and .720 net ex lift. Lobes are kinda slow cause valve weight is a little high. Nextec valve springs.
An 850 Baker carb.
Vacuum pump

Hope it runs good.

Is he limited to a 4150 carb?

No, he can run 4500, but the Baker 850 is what he has. Got it for a song and it seems to runs good.

I may bring something bigger just to test on dyno day, or try a dyno carb sitin at the shop.

I'd like a 4500 intake to try too, but not sure how long he wants to stay on the payment plan.

My prediction on the 468. 620ftlb 660hp. Is there a consolation prize available if I'm wrong?
