Re: Best fuel?
I would start with a 50/50 of 110 and 87 pump gas and tune from there. you may only need 1/4 or 2/3 gallon mix for 5 gallons to be safe.

Re: Best fuel?
Best performance - an oxygenated race fuel designed for lower compression engines.
Probably not best bucks vs. power.

Re: Best fuel?
After twenty five years of fuel blending and testing, I have concluded the following:
Selecting the best fuel is much like selecting the best woman. It all depends on purpose and use.
For short, circle track racing, throttle response is much more important than horsepower. The data
indicates very many racers never get to full throttle and most only when part way down the straight.
Never use pump gas. It has absolutely no consistency (by design); it will vary from batch to batch, day to
day and month to month.
For the above application I would blend an 110 octane (115/105) with a low temperature distillation
curve, except for hot summer weather. For best results, this leaded fuel would contain a non-alcoholic
oxygenate (ether). It must be kept very fresh, out of sunlight, heat and air.
Test the fuel before use to ensure that you have what you think you have. Do not trust the comments of
fuel marketers or other racers. Collect your own data and study it. Tune to changes in weather.

VP fuel website has the specs on their dozens of fuels..... Reid vapor pressure and 90C evaporation are important....There is more to gas than octane...
