Yeah.. like the guys already mentioned.. oem port locations. Unfortunately not much hubbub on the exhaust side with standard low port oem configuration but has nice big bowl and tons of material to push both walls out if you run the wider bolt pattern flange. Ends up with a decently high sqaush port exit that fits 1.5" or 1.625" off the head.

Kaase had intended to do a high port intake version but apparently market saturation killed it off. Too bad because these heads could easily compete with much spendier chi stuff if they are pushed hard enough. Luckily there is well over 1/2" of extra roof material to play with and manifold flange is very tall to accept spacers for raised manifold mounting.. or even the 351W manifold which is nearly 3" wider than the 302 manifold. I have port plugs and the deep bowls and high ssr apex is very much like the sb2.2 stuff.

Awesome head that a lot if people underestimate the potential. Shrink the exhaust and move/offset the head over to unshroud the intake and they could swallow a 2.2" valve while still maintaining more cylinder wall clearance than most inline small valve arrangements. I'll likely end up with a 2.16" intake/ 1.54" exhaust combo when all is said and done.

Yeah.. understatement of the month right there! Sure wish he'd have put half the "continued development work" into this head as he has invested into some of his other projects(MEL head for instance). I'm sure he could be well into the 450 cfm flow ranges if he worked at it and killed the OEM port locations. Hell.. probably hit 375 or better just by raising the roof/stuffing the floor alone. =P~
