Dart IE180 or Brodix ST5.0?

Post by travis »

351w, 9.9-1 compression, 224/232 HROL cam on a 112 lsa. I can get a good deal on either of these heads...which would you prefer and why? The dart is iron and 180cc runners, the brodix aluminum and 171cc intake runners. Both have 2.02/1.60 valves. Going in my heavy ass truck, so the weight difference really doesn't matter.

How would this truck spend the most of it's time in use?
If it where me and I did not have a Cam yet I would go with the iron heads and a Cam of 5 less degrees on both lobes and take the piston valve notches out to add 3 to 4 more CC's.

If the info from Stans site is remotely close being they are 1.94 valve examples not 2.02 I would use the aluminum ST 5.0. it's splitting hairs up to .500 intake and exhaust. Smaller chamber as well plus it' weighs less.... Couple of ported examples on there suggest it's got a ton of potential too.
