With the 3.58" stroke, that should be no problem.
What do you have in mind Mike and will it work with isky 6005 springs?

Best thing to do, is fill out my cam recommendation form. http://jonescams.com/drag-race/

BTW, you want the compression as high as your fuel will allow.

I get questions about my 79 Impala about how much HP or how big the engine is. The idle sounds nasty, but the engine is very mild. It's a stock Vortec engine with another 10 degrees ground into the cam, 1.6 rockers, and headers. My last 3 fill-ups have been 18.7 mpg. You can have your cake and eat it too. It might produce better economy with 1.5 rockers, but I have grown fond of the sound of the idle.

Personally, I don't think just 10 degrees over stock would make a lot of difference in the sound manners.

If the LSA got tighter, maybe.

I was surprised by the sound, it's only there at a dead idle, but that's the way it is. Maybe because of the 1.6 roller rockers, maybe the 2 1/2" exhaust with headers, maybe because I run the idle as lean as I can for fuel economy. I had to run the apt all the way to the bottom to get the afr I was after. Maybe because of the stock QJ carb, or the fabricated adapter for the square pattern carb flange, who knows. I had the 112 lsa left as is for fuel economy. I'm pretty sure I installed it at 4 degrees advanced. regardless, it's a clear example of what you can do with a decent stock motor. The original engine ran well, but it was slow and only got 14 mpg freeway no matter how I tuned it. Apparently it took GM 20 years to get it right
