LS-3 sytem 1 type oil filter

Post by AA Performance »

Does anyone no of a system 1 style oil filter that fits the ls-3 6.0 liter that has the filter at the back of the oil pan. The thread size is larger than the early ls-1 5.7 liter.

You could use this

5-294 - CM 4.25" BILLET SPIN-ON FILTER 22MM THREAD 2 5/8 O-RING
Our Price: $171.60
This 4.25" tall billet spin-on filter has 22MM threads and a standard size o-ring. Like all CM filters it features a billet aluminum body built for strength and durability for a lifetime of use. Heat sink ribs add to filter's functionality and aggressive aesthetic. The filters bottom cap is easily removed with four bolts for filter element inspection and replacement. A CM 2-5/8" tall synthetic fiber filter element which flows 15 GPM of hot engine oil with no loss of pressure and filters down to 8 microns comes preinstalled.

And Then use SS washable element Race Only26-050 - 2-5/8" TALL FILTER ELEMENT - CLEANABLE ULTRA FINE SCREEN
Our Price: $36.00
These cleanable and reusable filter elements are for CM filters requiring a 2-5/8" filter element. They are designed for race applications where oil is clean and frequently inspected and changed. In other applications they should be used as a secondary inspection filter. The pleated 400 mesh screen media filters to 40 microns.

Thank you Dave. Its a shame they don't have a screw on base instead of the bolted base.

Its not bad at all O ring billet alum cap with 4 allen head capscrews
they really work well.
I dont want to talk about using the Evans coolant cause everyone says its crap
but I had good luck with it in my L-88 Grandsport Replica.
