best way to mark balancer

have a new engine in my chevy 2 with a fluidamper(silver color). last had an ATI on old motor. i put black paint on my timing marks and couldnt see them very well, tried red marks and could not see them well. tried white marks and cant see them as well, is there some sort of paint or marker with a specific color that will show up well under the timing light. never had the trouble seeing the ATI balancer marks. thanks
