Working on a set now. rec port set.
Any suggestions you'd share ?

What Head?
Guess that would make a difference. lol
We have to use factory Iron heads. 026-990 casting rec ports mostly.

Prepare for disappointment. I have ported one set of 990s for pulling. I will not touch them now. They are so thin in areas. Inconsistent as well. I did a 2.25 with 11/32 stem. If I had to do it over on my own I would have done a 5/16 stem. If I had a big bore I would go 2.30 valve or if you notched bore well. I would make the bowls as big as you feel comfortable which will not be much maybe 96% of valve.

Eric, disappointment as in cfm results, grinding through ? Other ?
Do you have a sonic thickness tester you use ? If so what brand and what do you think of it ?
I know they are thin in places,... but picking them up they sure don't seem thin !! LOL :)

Did the 990 headed pulling truck engine get dynoed ?
